St Joseph’s is a member of Churches Together in Dorking (CTD). The Charity’s objectives are to develop the work of the Christian church in Dorking and the surrounding area by the advancement of the Christian Religion, relief of poverty, suffering, sickness and distress, the advancement of education and other such activities as are charitable and are in compliance with Charity Commission law.
The charity’s principal activity in pursuit of its charitable objectives is to act as a meeting point for local churches and their representatives to work together on specific projects and coordinate joint worship events. There are currently 15 Christian member organisations. A key charitable activity is the operation of the Foodbank. CTD collects for a Fuel Fund to assist households having difficulty paying fuel bills. It also helped with the distribution of the Household Support fund.
St Joseph’s plays a full part in a growing vision for interdenominational outreach and projects such as Soul Connect Youth Work and the food bank.
Members of CTD all pray for one church, congregation, organisation or initiative each week on a rota"
If you would like to contact CTD with a view to volunteering in particular in the operation of the Foodbank please contact Katy Harris at projectlead.daf@gmail.com.
