Getting Married

GETTINNG MARRIED:- A reminder that if you are planning to marry in the Church and live within the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton, Bishop Richard requires that you give twelve months notice to your Parish Priest. (The Diocese includes the whole of Sussex and Surrey outside the London boroughs.) During that time, the Parish Priest will outline the particular requirements in regard to a marriage preparation programme. This means that at the present time, the earliest a wedding could take place will be the end of June 2026, however, given that most reception venues require 18 months notice, 12 months notice to the parish should come as no surprise.
